A word from Ella:

"Throughout my 20+ years of professional experience as an in-house counselor, I have dealt extensively with conflicts of various types, both internal, within the company and external, between the company and its counterparts.

Over the years I have come to the realization that ultimately, each conflict involves two or more parties each with their own particular agendas, ambitions, concerns, fears, and goals, all contribute to form their core interests.

I have found that the way to resolve most conflicts is not by imposing “the right solution” or a generic textbook “win-win” solution. Rather, I believe that successful conflict resolution is achieved by seeking to find a result that, while perhaps not optimal, is realistically acceptable and ultimately positive to each of the sides in the conflict and capable of enduring over time.

Furthermore, I have come to understand that the earlier we can identify the presence of a conflict or even the initial misunderstandings, we can address them, getting each side to understand their own interests, and those of the other side. This way, there is a greater chance to defuse the situation at an early stage and most importantly, avoid a conflict that might deteriorate into a crisis and all the collateral damage to follow."
